Membership Guidelines

Delta Epsilon Chi student members must be enrolled in college on either a full- or part-time basis at some time during the academic year. State associations (or territories, provinces, etc.) may further define their own membership qualifications. In turn, local chapters may set more detailed membership guidelines. Your chapter may only be for students in the College of Business, or maybe any student on campus can join. Some schools even have multiple chapters to serve different areas of study (ex. fashion chapter, management chapter and marketing chapter).

DECA Inc. (national) membership is $10 per year (July 1 - June 30). State associations usually charge additional dues to help offset operating costs. For membership processing and dues information, find your state/province/territory on the Delta Epsilon Chi map.

Some chapters also charge a small amount of dues to help offset chapter operating costs.

Chapter-Level Membership

Membership pins and cards are given to each member (students, advisors, alumni, administrators and businesspersons) upon joining. Recognition on Delta Epsilon Chi's Web site. Each chapter with a membership increase of at least 20 percent will earn a 20 percent discount on a selected group of DECA IMAGES items.

Association-Level Membership
(includes states, provinces and territories)

All association allocations are based on membership dues.

Competitive Events-competitive event allocations are based on the year-end membership dues for the previous year. Associations receive additional competitor slots in each event for every 50 members (51-100, 101-150, etc.).

Management Institutes-institute allocations are based on the year-end membership dues for the previous year. Associations receive additional slots in each institute for every 50 members (51-100, 101-150, etc.).

Voting Delegates-the allocation of voting delegates is based on an association's membership as a percentage of overall Delta Epsilon Chi Membership prior to the conference.

For each increase of 15 members this year over last year's membership, an association will receive one additional c ompetitor slot for the International CDC in any one event that the association chooses. For team events, the entire team is counted as "one competitor slot."
