Delta Epsilon Chi Week

One of the most effective ways to publicize your Delta Epsilon Chi chapter on campus is to get involved in Delta Epsilon Chi Week promotion. Delta Epsilon Chi Week is always celebrated during the second, full week in October.

Delta Epsilon Chi Week is October 12-18, 2008!

Below are some suggested activities for your chapter during this promotion week.

Monday – Membership Day or Recruitment Day
Make Monday, Membership Day, and use at the start of the week to let everyone know what Delta Epsilon Chi is, why they should get involved. Current members should get out and promote the organization to as many possible students on campus.

Tuesday – Fund-raising Day
Set a fund-raising goal for the year and brainstorm different ways for your chapter to raise money. Also, use this is an opportunity for you to go around the community and see what businesses can support the organization through donations. Anything from the hot dogs and buns for a barbeque, or prizes for a raffle is a giant help.

Wednesday – Community Service Day
There may be no other day that is more fulfilling than a day of community service work. Work as a chapter or partner with other organizations on a project that benefits your community, or helps a nationwide cause.

Thursday – Social Day
Everyone needs a day to take a break and relax. Coordinate a social activity for the members of your chapter AND any potential members. Have a picnic, go bowling, play golf, or organize a pre-Halloween party. Use this day to socialize, get to know the members of your chapter and have some fun!

Friday – Recognition Day
A great way to wrap up Delta Epsilon Chi Week is with a recognition day. Hold a luncheon or banquet to highlight the accomplishments of Delta Epsilon Chi Week. Be sure to recognize everyone involved, and announce the results of any fundraising or community service event. Also, remember to invite advisors, faculty, donors, and all students who helped make the week a success. If you have taken pictures throughout the week, this is the perfect time to view a slide show as a recap.

Proclaim Delta Epsilon Chi Week

Take this opportunity to have your chapter interact with the local government. Write a proclamation and submit it to your local mayor or governor to have the city/state officially recognize Delta Epsilon Chi week. Check with your local authorities to discover the appropriate procedures and timelines, and when the time comes, have the officer team and chapter members meet at city hall, or the capitol building, to meet and thank your governmental official. This provides added recognition for your organization and is a great learning experience for your members!
